maybe someone wanna pick up one of these thing.

    just wondering.

    which is better?
the Pinnacle Studio PCTV or the WINTV PCI?

I got the WINTV PCI. both seems to have smiliar features, remote, TV tuner, FM radio.

one thing about my wintv is I got no remote and when watching tv I get interlace/scanline problems with the video so it's pretty aweful.

  2. Both are basically the same card, a tuner with a BT8x8 chip. WinTV have better support, perhaps.
When watching interlaced TV on a non-interlaced PC monitor, you will always get interlace artifacts...

  3. Use DScaler for watching TV --> no more interlacing.

  4. As far as I remenber, Studio PCTV has the S-VHS connector input whereas the Win TV PCI doesn't.

For good quality captures the S-VHS input is highly recommended.

  5. I picked it up. So far great card. What a price!

My previous card did not have a stereo tuner, s-video input, fm radio tuner, or a remote control. This one has all that. And it captures great. It's stable so far. No lockups to speak of.
