    hi

i want to buy more ram for my PC, but i keep comming across two different types. EEC(non conforming, and EEC (conforming i guess). i was wondering what is the difference? i want to make sure i get the right one. is one better than the other?

any info(or link) would greatly help.

    thanks

This site details the various RAM types, interesting and very useful; slightly out of date but close enough.

    Short answer:

A quick check of your motherboard specs and I see the manufacturer notes:

    Max. 2GB DDR
    2 x DDR slots , DDR333/266/200

So search for "DDR 333 RAM" on the web (might as well go for the fastest!) and the max your system can hold is 2 1gb DDR memory modules. As for ecc or non-ecc, don't sweat it -- 99.9% of what you find will be non-ecc anyway, which is fine (I've only ever seen ecc ram used in servers or a couple of systems with big warning stickers on the motherboard that say ECC RAM ONLY!)
