i'm not sure which forum this should be is
i am capturing video from my camcorder using nero. then i am editing it with intervideo winProducer.
when i save the file it saves it as a .wpp file
then i go back to nero and try to burn it to a dvd
nero doesn't recognize the file format
i'm not sure if nero has a editing program
i am using nero startsmart
if anyone knows of any editing software that works with nero
or maybe i need to convert the files
i'm not quite sure what to do

WinProducer 3 will burn DVD's itself. If you are using an older version, then I would see if it allows you to save your output in a different format.
Google is your Friend -
winproducer allows you to create an output in the following formats:
mpeg, mpeg2, avi, dv type 1 avi, dv type 2 avi
nero only allows me to save it as a: bup, vob, or ifo -
Output to mpeg2, then you must author it(make vob, ifo, bup). Click on author in the menu here to the left. Or check for dvd author tools in the tools section.
but I'm pretty sure that winproducer can author to dvd.
