  1. Just converted an older movie (better off dead) and something odd is happening. it happened once before but I shrugged it off as a fluke

the movie appears to be successfully but both media player and zoom player think its 1 hour 14 minutes 51 seconds long

clearly its longer since I am still watching it 10 minutes later with the timer still at 1:14:51 it continues to play though

why is this ? and is there a way to repair it ?

I thought maybe I could do a merge and cut and slive a second off the end or something but the merge/cut portion of tmpgenc will not see past the 1:14:51

    Suggestions ?

  2. It could be related to how you merged the AVI files. I've found that I get the same symptoms you describe after converting a VOB series to a series of AVI files then AVI files are concatinated together using the DOS copy command, or the unix cat command.

  4. I don't know what to suggest at this point. I just made that observation in case your problem amounts to the same cause. ie. if the tool you're using did a concatination internally that might explain it.

Sounds like a bad avi header. Divfix may be able to correct it.

Some authoring programs do this. Ifoedit's DVD author module will mis-report time, but this has been corrected in the current release,971.
How did you create the DVD files?
