  1. Hello all! I have put myself in a corner, and now I need your help to get out of it! A buddy of mine has a couple of iso files that he can't do anything with. I think he downloaded them, not knowing what he was getting. Anyway, I took them, and told him I would fix him up. Well...I can't do anything with them as well, If I try to mount with Daemon tools, I get "Unable to mount image. Unable to access image file" ISO busters gives me " The Primary volume descriptor (PVD) in unreadable. Read error at address 16. Device reported error 05/64/01" DVD decryptor gives a similar error, but the reason is the filename, directory name, or volume syntax is incorrect".

I think this means the iso files weren't made correctly, but I have never had an image Daemon tools can't mount.

Any advise on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated, by both myself and my fragile ego!!!

Thanks again for all your time.

Try to mount them with Alcohol 120% tool. It works fine for me. Never had any problems with it. You can download a 30-days trial version. Good luck.

  3. I'll give it a shot and see if that works. It's funny that Daemon tools won't mount the image! I'll let ou know what happens. I'm thinking it's the way the image was created.

If the ISO's are corrupt, nothing can be done with. Download them again from a different location, if Alcohol doesn't work out.

  5. Well, if my ego wasn't bruised before, it is now! The iso is fine. Seems the file name was the problem. The iso is a Japanese Anime, and the file name is in Japanese. I renamed it to "test.iso" and everything is fine!

Thanks for your help! Hopefully I didn't waste too much of your time.
