Would sure appreciate some help. I have tired this over and over again and failed, I searched for similar topics and found a few but missing some info I need as a newbie. Can someone please help me through the steps of using "join" in ffmpegX to combine 2 AVI files. I have a movie
in 2 parts and would like to join as one and write to a DVD. I'm soooo
confused. Do I start with both files as AVI's? or first encode each individually? If I encode them what setting should I use?

Also, do I add one file to the "Summary" Source format and then
the 2nd through browse under "Tools"? I am so lost here. It's probably
so simple, but I just don't get it! I'm ready to pull my hair out
If anyone could walk me though the steps I would be very grateful as I'm ready to give up! (it probably doesn't make a difference, but I'm on
    a Macintosh). Thanks so much!

  2. The best option is not to join the files, but to encode each one separately to "ffmpeg DVD" or "mpeg2enc DVD" (disable "author as DVD" and use mp2 audio), and then import in Sizzle the two resulting .mpg files, and create a single VIDEO_TS folder from them.

Appreciated your reply and was eager to try. Seemed so easy until I downloaded "Sizzle" from Version Tracker. Could not get anything in the program to work. It's like a "dead" copy.
No windows, nothing to open, just a menu at the top that offers no working options. Are there some codes that I am missing here? I assumed that everything you need is downloaded with the program but now I'm thinking that's not the case. Tried downloading 3 times, same thing happens. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

  4. You need to install Arial and or Arial black (fonts) to get Sizzle to display properly, if I remember correctly.

Another option would be to use MPEG Streamclip to join your MPGs and then author a video_ts in FFMPEGX from the joined MPEG
