  1. So I've been reading through the forums for the past couple of weeks and while I have learned quite a bit I have still not completely solve my problem.

To begin with I have a movie that I want to convert to a DVD so it can be played on regular set-top players. The movie is in two separate ogm containers (xvid video, ogg audio, subtitles). After reading through the forums I used ogmtools to separate the different pieces. I have also converted the ogg audio to wav using Quicktime and the ogg plugin. I have figured out how to join the video and audio, but the sub files are referenced to the timing of the first half and second half of the movie, so when I combine the subs they won't work with the joined movie. I figure the solution to this is to encode each half of the movie separately, so the subs will fit and then combine the two on the final DVD. I'm familiar with ffmpegx, toast, sizzle, titlelab, quicktime, but despite my multiple attempts I have not figured out how to complete my task. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also I would like to retain as much of the original quality, so any opions on itermediate steps of conversion that would retain all much quality as possible would also help.
