I was using my Sony TRV38 with firewire for a year, when all of a sudden when I connected the firewire cable, the DV-IN showed up on the camcorder screen, but it was blinking, and the computer wasn't recognizing an IEEE-1394 device at all.
I tried a different cable and that didn't work. Then i put a new PCI firewire card in my PC and that didn't help either. I also connected my friend's iPod and the computer recongnized it, so the firewire ports on the computer work.
I'm about to take it to the service center, but does anybody have any ideas on what else I could try? Does anybody know what blinking DV-IN means, and also how much it costs to replace the DV board on the camcorder.
