Hello people, new here so be gentle.

Well anyway, i am capturing macrovision protected tapes. I purchased a macrovision remover and so here is my setup. Sorry for my artistic skills. :P

As the picture says, my setup is all scart.

The recording is ok but once in a while(every minute or so) the recording will blink for a split second. I don't have a problem with the slight blinking but my brother does.

My theory is that the blink is put in to accomodate DVD recorder lag or something.

Does anyone know how i could prevent the blinking? I was thinking that using Scart to RCA cable or something would take away the dvd recorder lag, IF it is that.

  2. You didnt really tell us what you mean by blinking.
However I have experienced something similar with old VHS tapes.
This blinking is caused by tape sticking which results in a momentary loss of sync.
One way to reduce this affect is to clean the capstan pinch roller with a cotton swab and alcohol.
Another way to prevent sticking is to FF the tape and rewind.
Some tapes will have areas that have streched slightly this will also cause a loss of sync.
Once a tape has started to deteriorate there is not much that can be done.

Oh no it is definately not the tape. When i play the tape without the macrovision remover there is no blinking.

When i mean blinking there is just a black screen for like half a second and then the video continues.

Then the second thought would be the "macrovision remover" that you are using. They are all not equal.
