I have 3 anime episodes that I want to turn into a movie, but no matter what I do, the quality of the final video sux big time. But the original is great, maybe at the limit.
So, in virtualdub I can append the episodes and cut the parts I don't want, but when I create a new file, with the direct stream copy with the video, I get some of the parts that shouldn't be there.
I know this is because of the key frames, and most people let that option with 300 or 500 frames to a new key frame.
What I want to do is insert key frames without encoding the video, because the key frames it already have, can't do the job.
Basically, I want to cut, in frame level, some part, then join then, without converting the video.
Is it possible?
Wich software does that?

Well you never said what the video was.
I don't see why the quality of the final video would suck if you are simply joining without converting. Then if you are converting, why worry about not converting when you join? -
It is an avi file.
If I convert, it sux.
Maybe the original file was converted too many times, don't know.
I want to cut some parts and join then, just that. I do a precise cut, but since there is no key frame where I cut, the final video has some parts t]hat I didn't want to be there, bacause virtualdub seeks the next key frame. -
You need to re-encode the part where you want to cut. The rest you can leave as is.
avi is just a container, it is the video inside that matters, could be XviD, x264, DivX, VP6.2 or anything. Not sure that there are any tools for adding I frames to any of them anyway though but you need to know what the video is so that you can re-encode the part where you want to cut.
Hopefully it is XviD so that you can use a zone to make sure that you get an I frame right where you want it.
