  1. I have an AVI file that required the K-lite mega codec pack just to play on Window media player. Now I want to convert it to DVD, but none of the authoring software I have will recognise the file. Any suggestions?

You need to convert the avi to a DVD COMPLIANT MPEG2 first. Use Mainconcept mpeg encoder. Then use tmpgenc dvd author to author. To avois sync problems separate audio first with virtualdub mod.
Nothing is impossible for DiLeMmA says so!

  3. You may also try avidemux (freeware) to convert your avi to DVD compliant files. Not as fast as mainconcept, but much cheaper...

  4. The proper way to use a codec pack is to first run GSpot to identify the specific codec your media file requires, then install only that one codec from the pack.

Bad mojo happens if you install the entire codec pack.
