Good morning all.
First post to any forum so please be kind.
I am 62 and retired so I do have difficulty understanding Internet slang.
Question:
I have been converting Beta/VHS video tapes to DVD and have had fairly good success. My process is to run Beta/VHS through Sima SCC to ILO DVDR04 and thence rip to computer with DVD Decryptor and if necessary to use DVDShrink to excise any unwanted previews or extraneous scenes.
I realize the limitations of Beta/VHS as far as quality is concerned and have been resonably happy with the results. Now my question.
Using the above procedure, is there any advantage of using the DV input on the ILO (passthrough Sony TVR 350 Digital 8 Camcorder) or would the composite or svhs inputs give equally good results?
As an aside, I really enjoy the comments of obviously knowledgeable folks like Lordsmurg, jimmalenko and gshelly to just name a few off the top of my head.
Thanks for your time
