Problems with my DVDRW IDE 1008

I’m having problems with my DVD burner, every time I try to burn an audio CD, it burns it but the audio has a static sound on some tracks. And I try burning a movie same thing, burn o.k. but skip on some parts of the movie! I try cleaning the lens with a DVD cleaner but that did not work! Can somebody tell me what can be the problem? I have a DVD-RW IDE 1008….. From Micro Advantage

Try burning at a slower speed.

Based on the information you provided, you PROBABLY have a BTC 1008 burner. This is not exactly the best burner on the market, and it is Very picky about media.

I suggest you do some reading on the BTC forum over at http://club.cdfreaks.com and try media recommended there.

That did not work! I must be something else! And the burner was working find till a few weeks ago! Can it be a laser or something else, in audio not all track has static and just a couple of them and with movie some part of the movie freezes.
