Hello all, I've wanted to transfer the mpeg stuff that I can only see on my computer so that I can watch on a regualr stand alone dvd player. I've downloaded NERO with encode but that kept on giving me an error message whenever I clcik on the encode dvd or mpeg files. Also TMPGEnc also gives me an error message after I've done all of the stuff and tell it to encode. I'm a newbie at this and was wondering what else i could be doing wrong. I've followed the instruction for TMPGEnc available to newbies to the best of my ability. Is there any other program that can convert mpeg to be able to play on standalone dvd players?

You probably don't need to "convert", you just need to author it.
Look in the tools section, under "author".Cheers, Jim

Give more details as to what error you are getting. Dont use nero to encode. It will screw up everything. What settings are you using in TMPGEnc. Use GSpot to check the contents of your source file.
If at all you want to keep it simple try using WinAVI Converter or Nero Vision Express. When I was born I was so shocked that I could'nt speak for 18 months.
