  1. First, I am fully aware of how to rip a dvd, I am familiar with a great deal of tools. But what I am trying to do is convert JUST some seperate VOBs to mpeg2. Meaning, withing the VOB is the video... I know about IFOs and BUPs... but I just wanna simply convert/demux a portion of a VOB.
    ex. -> A movie (4.0 GBs) with 4 VOBs (1GB each)...
    I just want a few minutes of the video from VOB#2... into mpeg1/mpeg2 or even AVI. Is there a simple tool that will do this without needing the IFOs?
    A friend told me about ReJig... I am reading up on it now, but if u know of something please help! Thanks...

    My only generic work around is to use Shrink and get the 2 or 3 minutes of video... then TMPG...Author which can make an mpeg on HD.

    :edit: I should add that the reason the tools for this are limited is because I want to demux the video from VOBs on the HD, NOT VOBs from a disc... I guess this cancels reJig!
    And also TMPG...Author wants to copy the entire DVD to the HD as mpeg file, this takes too long for just wanting a few minutes of a chosen VOB!

    Yes, ReJig is cool for getting video and audio out of a VOB (or 2). The best IMO.

    rejig, from what I see will only open discs... not files on HD...

    the m2v file is getting errors for TMPG...Author and TMPG!

  5. If you want to demux then VOBedit and Rejig are nice & easy tools. Also Mpeg options in TMPGEnc.

    To convert straight away to mpeg you can use TMPGEnc if the audio is not AC3. Or Nero Vision Express. In NVE you can also select the start & end points. Or you can try WinAVI Converter.

    Yes, Rejig will read files from hdd.
