    Can any tell me the brand name of the drive that is supported by the website www.drvupdate.com. That is the only info on the DVD burner that identifys a brand name. For me the website is blank when it comes to info on identifying the manufacturer of the drive. Win XP identify the drive as "DVDRW".

    Thanks, alot. Now that i know this. Is there a method in WinXP that i can use to identify the firmware version or is there a tool that does this?

    DVD InfoPro will give you the firmware version, it's free.

    you can also check it in nero, by going to "choose recorder" and highlighting the drive.
