  1. AUSTIN, Texas - The Friday night lights in Texas could soon be without bumpin' and grindin' cheerleaders. Legislation filed by Rep. Al Edwards would put an end to "sexually suggestive" performances at athletic events and other extracurricular competitions.

    Hello,

I'm guessing a full out strip show would count as "vulgar"

Sounds like a dirty old man trying to remove the temptation

Unfortunatly I can see both sides to the story. The kids want to do this and have fun at it. Sex sells and attracts attention, this may be what is the breaking point that puts them over the top in any competion. And it no doubt may have a desired effect on the individuals social life.

The con, or at least the flip side would be along the lines of whether or not the state, or society in general, sould be teaching youth to use sex to achive an end result (other than its intended purpose). And the possibilty that it may lead to a negative event in a participents life.

My veiw? Hell I don't know. That is the trouble with being open minded. Should teens be strutting their stuff in a puplic venue? I mean that it is a natural part of life (the mating game). Should sex be kept secret or put on public display? And then again, how much is too much?

It doesn't matter, where ever they place the new "line" will have just as many cheerleaders pushing it as there are now.

    2 other points -

#1 - if the cheerleader or her parents are uncomfortable with the seductivness of the dance then they should disallow it, and is really the only way to prevent it. The advisor or girls come up with the dance...if no cheerleaders are willing to do it, that kind of nips the whole issue now doesn't it.

#2 - Give me a ******* break Is whoever is complaining about this so nieve to think that those or any other girl is as pure as the driven snow by the time they reach the HS age? They are young women, not young "girls". While none of us who have daughters want to admit it, we all know some of the thoughts we have about women, thoughts we have about our wives or girlfriends...well, your wife or girlfriend is someone else's daughter...

This is a "college aged cheerleader" example, but perhaps this is too much.

    I don't know about that...being she's college aged, I'm excited. Isn't that a cheerleader's job? To excite the crowd?

Sex is just one of Satin's tools and I believe in a full tool box.
Big Government is Big Business.. just without a product and at twice the price... after all if the opposite of pro is con then wouldn’t the opposite of progress be congress?

Ooohh! That was too much! Where are my heart pills? OK, now I am better. Now where is that zoom button?

I am no prude, but I would have to say that for me a girl shouldn't start flaunting herself until 17. I figure that is about the time that they are developed enough to be considered a woman. I know different cultures have different standards and all, but that is just my thinking. As for what should go at high school games where a large part of the crowd may be younger and all that, who is to say. I mean at what age is it OK for a young boy to see porn? At what age do we start to really teach our children about sex? I mean sex has been around for a long time and I hope for a long time to come(no pun). At what age can the responceabilty be achived and so on. No matter what the standards are or what ever statutes are set there will always be the exception or those that think they are the exception. Do I have impure thoughts? Hell yes! Do I act uncontrolably on them? No. (But that doesn't meant that I wouldn't like to)

Oh by the way do you think that gal is available for private parties?

It reminds me of the pep-rally scene in "The Hollywood Knights" ... when one of the cheerleaders forgets that she's not wearing underwear. However, the film only shows a view from the rear.

Hmmmm ... Texas ... cheerleaders ... I wonder if this group had something to do with the legislation:

They call themselves Satan's Cheerleaders and they come from Austin.
