It seems several guides that used to exist are now gone or are text only. So for the visually inclined... here goes...

    Open RNM. Close wizard.

Select the burner. Right-click, go down to SELECT AS RECORDER. Red arrow appears.

Select as DATA DISC. DVD-Video is nothing special. It's just a data disc with certain settings (no multisession, UDF, etc ... we'll set those in the next steps).

    Goto EDIT -> RECORDING OPTIONS:

Change the setting for DVD to match these:

Drag files from Windows to the RNM window. Name/label your disc. Set the burn speed. Record. Leave other settings alone:

Hit the big orange/red button to burn.

And there you go. 100% compliant DVD-Video burning.

I'm using this program since day one. Never had a single problem with it after 3000+ burns.
I noticed that even if Recording type is"Not closed" and the File system type is Joilet, the program recognizes the VIDEO_TS folder and closes the disc.
I've burned a lot of disc with these settings and they're still 100% compatible.

    Enjoy!

  6. I also prefer RecordNow MAX/DX over newer versions, unfortunatly it's no longer available.
If you have RecordNow MAX/DX and it doesn't recognize your DL writer* read this guide:
    www.dvd-recordable.org/Reviews+index-req-showcontent-id-137.phtml
*RNM/DX will not burn DL,you need to upgrade to v7.2+ to do so.

I modified the last paragraphs of the guide for Win98/Me users:
Update Method of Existing Recordnow Max/DX Installations
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    1. Make sure RecordNow Max/DX is not running.
    2. Install PxEngine507.exe to update the PX Engine in Recordnow Max/DX.
    3.Copy these modified .dll's into C:\Program Files\Stomp(or Veritas,Sonic)\RecordNow MAX(or DX) folder.
4.Reboot and test to see if your writer is recognized and you have all of your burning speeds.
5.If your writer is not detected then copy the modified .dll's into C:\Windows\System.

On my WinXP PC I found out(the hard way) you only need to copy the modified .dll's to the Program Files folder,if you copy to the System32 folder it will conflict with newer versions of RecordNow.
