  1. I have looked through several forums and haven’t found an answer to my problem..please help! I have a DVD-RAM disk that I have recorded several 30min episodes of a series show. The disk is full, and I would like to make a copy of it do a DVD –R disk. My problem is, that I am unable to access more than about 30 minutes on the disk. I have tried editing the file within TMPGenc and it only reports 30min of video. I have even tried changing the vro extension to mpg, and viewing the file..I am only able to see 30 min worth. I also tried using DVD Decrypter and converting the whole thing to ISO then authoring it..but same problem..only 30min was accessable. Why am I unable to access the rest of the videos on this disk? It’s like only one recordable section is accessible. Is there a program or something that would help me to view the rest of the files?

tmpgenc mpeg editor should be able to extract the contents of the dvd-ram disc.. i believe ulead dvd movie factory disc creator 3 will do this as well. i've also heard iso buster will extract the .vro file for you, but i havent used it.. the other 2 programs have worked well for me, so i've used them exclusively.

  3. I tried TMPEGnc editor and the ISO buster..and they both give me the same 30 minutes of video that the other programs retrieved. Anyone have any other thoughts?
Thanks so much for any help!

  4. Try to demux the renamed file (mpg) with projectX or pvastrumento. Then (if that works) reauthor the elementary streams.

  6. Okay, I downloaded pvastrumento and opened my vro file. When I look at the file in pvastrumento, it shows only one video and one audio stream..and the stream is 30 minutes, which is the must be the same 30 minutes that I keep seeing within all other programs thus far. What is perplexing to me, is that I have 7 other 30 minute segments that are "unviewable" in any of these programs. Has anyone else ever had this problem from a DVD-RAM disk before? There must be a way to access the other recorded video files...I just have no idea how! Any other thoughts?

  7. What did you record the 4 hours of episodes on? What are you using to play all the episodes?
Still a few bugs in the system...

  8. I recorded the episodes on a DVD-RAM using Panasonic E55. In my computer I am using an LG-4160B drive. Of course the disk plays fine in the panasonic. The size of the vro file is 3.89GB.

have you tried opening the .vro file with womble mpeg-vcr?

i'm not too familiar with dvd-ram, can you finalize the disc so it will be in dvd-video standard(video_ts folder w/ vobs) ?

  10. Okay I finally figured out what the problem was, in accessing all of the recorded segments of the DVD-RAM. I had originally copied the vro file to my hard drive. When I tried to edit the vro file within any program, I could only access 30min of the file. I found that using TMPGEnc DVD Author, I can start a new project. Then click on the ad DVD Video button…access the video directly from the disk itself..and from there I can access all of the recorded clips on the disk. I would just keep adding each clip as needed. I will say that I can copy the vro file to my hard drive and edit it there, as long as the recorded file was one continuous recorded segment. Hope this helps anyone who has had the same problem!

  11. Thanks for the heads up. I have almost the same RAM equipment as you and I know I would have eventually encountered the same problem.
