As I was splicing together some home video footage in Ulead VS 6 SE Basic, I noticed a few segments that needed color correction, so I saved a segment of my video project as an AVI and fixed it with the HSV filter in VirtualDubMod 5.10 build 2439. I did this for two separate segments of different lengths. The output from Vdub in both cases, however, plays fine in Windows Media Player and Vdub, but they seem cut off at 9:22.08 in Ulead. In other words, from Ulead's perspective, the videos from Vdub are only about 9 min. and 22 sec. long when in reality, they are much longer.

I have tried two versions of VirtualDubMod, the one above and 5.6. I also tested the input file for errors, but Vdub did not flag anything.

Any idea on what the problem might be? Thanks.

Try playing them in Media Player Classic or VLC Media Player. I don't trust WMP10 for good info. If VD plays them all the way through, then they should have been OK. Are the input and output file the same length with VD? If so, sounds like a problem with Ulead, though not sure what.

I also have experienced this same issue. I don't know what causes it but I've gotten into the habit saving segmented avi in VDub when I'm doing a project that requires both VDub and Ulead.

Thanks. I'll try MPC. For now, I'm just treating them as segmented output and saving the last part of the videos again so I can splice them together. Do AVIs have headers or something that declare what the length is that may have gotten written out improperly?
