which guides 2 use 4 avi2dvd?

what are some easy guides for burning loads of .avi episodes files onto dvdr?
and .avi movies onto dvdr? ~ all to view them on tv with dvd players

there are so many guides using so many different programs that i donno what are some good ones for easy useage...
i don want to do anything too complicated that i might mess up. so i need some help to point out on which guides that i should be considering S(^_-)b

Use Divxtodvd, open all avis and convert.

hmmm btw those that guide work for rmvb files as well?
or do i have to convert them to .mpg or avi files first?
