  1. Hi, I have backed up(?) several DVDs, and i use DVD Shrink to do this, and DVD 43. I have a weird problem, i have two movies that are backups themselves, and will play fine on my DVD player, but when i put them into my PC or laptop, they wont work. The laptop locks up, and the PC just tells me there is no disk in the drive. Any ideas??? I did not make the backups by the way, but dont understand why they wont play????

It may be a wild coincidence, but maybe the drives are going bad.

Also, just to be sure, do a dvdinfo scan on the discs to be positive if they're bad or not.

I have had the odd dvd that is not recognised by my reader & burner on my pc, though they play ok on my dvd player. The way I got around it was to start up dvddecrypter http://www.dvddecrypter.com/index.php?act=download , click on Mode/File F, select your player or burner. Dvddecrypter recognised the disc straightaway. You could then copy the files & burn another copy. The funny thing is that if I then shut down dvddecryter & started up my pc player ( WinDVD ) it would then play the dvd. Try it, it works for me.

  8. It may not be a problem with the media type your using. You may have two bad disc. I would try burning them again.
