Hey pals,
I have pretty obvious problem but so far i couldn't find the right tool.
There's a video on a tape which i need to transfer to PC (via FireWire) and then i need to cut out the parts we don't like, add some text, etc. I'm not exactly a newbie in video editing so i know something, but...
.. but i cannot figure our which software to use to cut out the parts of video i don't like!
I have checked to this moment 4 or 5 different software one bigger than another, but none of them offer easy way to cut out the parts of video (at least not as easy as it was in VirtualDub).
The most popular way to do that is using "Scene detection" and then excluding that scene in the production assembly.. but how precise and good is that scene detection?!?
In short - can anyone suggest me a software piece which would make it easy to cut out the parts of video i don't like!

You can use VirtualDub if you have the Panasonic DV codec installed.
Choose Direct streem copy for video and audio. This will save time saving the avi.
