  1. Hi... okay, I captured a tv episode with commercials and all with 640x480 Huffyuv. I'm using Virtualdub to cut out the commercials and apply the deinterlace/temporal cleaner/2d cleaner filters. Is there anyway I can have it like save to some kind of virtual file or do some frameserving so I can open it up with TMPGEnc without the commericals?

    tracker00,

    dahh... do it all the time.

    VirtualDub:
    ------------
    * open VD / setup your filters if any /
    * open file/frameser, and give it a name, ie, I use 01.vdr

    TMPGenc:
    -----------
    * open tmpg
    * open video, ie 01.vdr (audio w/ be setup already)
    * optional !! -- Advanced tab and [x] source, and make seporate clips btween commer.
    * now, start your encode

    TIP:
    ----
    * get rid of the 640x480 captures. It's a complete waist of time and encoding, etc.
    * I cap at 352x480 and have great looking SVCDs - can visit my site to see some.
    I just added another sample clip. So, if you don't beleive me (352x480) see my
    clips and judge for yourself!

    tracker00,

    I trust that the above worked?

    Later.

  4. I finished the frameserving step, but when I try and open it with TMPGEnc, I get the error "File "E:\test.vdr" can not open, or unsupported." I'm using TMPGEnc 2.00.29.113. Is there something else I need to install? BTW, that SVCD is a great capture.

    tracker00,

    what/which SVCD, the one you just made maybe?

    or the one(s) (which one) at my website?

    brum, brum....

    ok, try this step then.

    TMPG:
    -----
    * MENU: options/global settings/VFAPI plugins
    * then, RT-click the line that has AVI. . .in it, do both, as I can't
    remember which one it is. But, move them at the top.

    There's a method to my maddness! ..with the 01.vdr file.
    It's the file I always leave on my D: drive. And, whenever I have
    to start another project (as I always am doing) I like to know
    where I left off, and down the bottom where my MPG filename goes,
    I can see the last filename, as well as other settings to TMPG goes,
    is still available, and I can continue with my projects without thinking
    some more. I can't go waistng time, "where did I put that .vdr file
    and what name did I call it?
    I keep this 01.vdr as my standard, and I NEVER have to push myself
    any further than that!

    In time, you may feel that its time to start having standards, or
    consistancies across the board. So. . .anyways.
