  1. What the hell is wrong with my computer!!!!

Yesterday, got a BSOD that probably came back to some CPU issue...

Last week, my monitor started to act up like it's going to die at any moment...

My Pioneer 108 won't write faster than about 4x...despite having everything where it should AND using a hacked firmware that I haven't had any problems with since it was installed (shouldn't matter since I never usually overburn anyway)...

I've defragged, checked the disks for errors, done the antivirus thing...nothing is bringing this badboy back from the edge. Considering the problems, I may just have to scrap this machine for parts...sigh...anybody got a good idea for me?

  3. the BSOD code was something to the effect of 'bad machine check' or something to that effect.

I DID have a cpu fan die a few months ago that would cause the BSOD, but some of the other things are just freaky.

I haven't added any new or intrusive software and my stats are up to date on the 'computer details'.

The way I see it is that I'm out at least $500 for a good cpu and mobo, but with everything else on the fritz, I'm spooked that there's something else going wrong.

About six months ago, I replaced the psu with a beefy 480w with all the amperage in the right places, so I don't think it's a psu problem. The cpu problems haven't been giving me much problems except running intense 3D apps like Doom3, and rendering timelines in Vegas5.
