using this guide:
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=222005
and this site to set TMPGEnc's settings:
http://dvd-hq.info/Compression.html
i did everything that the guides said except i changed TMPGEnc's rate control settings to 4000, 4000, 2000 to speed up the proccess. i did do it on 6000, 8000, 2000 initially, but the file size of the finished file was too big and took ages.
i converted an episode of inuyasha, but there are some problems.
as you can see, the colors are darker and have lost the definition of the origional, also the converted version has been slightly streched.
how do i fix the strechedness, and is the color problems a result of me lower the rate control?
also the origional file in ogg format was only 230mb with audio, the converted version was 693mb without audio and with lower quality, how on earth does that work out?
thanks for your time

Probably you have an ogm file and not ogg. Ogm files tend to use XviD and other advanced codecs for the video which are much more efficient than MPEG2. The audio would most likely be vorbis, which once again is simply more effient than mp2, AC3, etc. Also you have more pixels to encode.
It is stretched because you have taken a picture with it displayed 1:1 where as it should be 4:3 or 16:9. It should resize correctly on playback.
As for the colours, could just be a playback/overlay type thing.
By the above rate control settings I assume that you mean mix/max/av bitrate settings? These won't effect encoding time, just the final filesize. -
well, the colors are off in every program i lay the file in, its a little thing, but it bothers me.

okay, ive just gone throught his guide:
http://www.easy-answers.com/how-to/anime-dvd/menu.asp
and again the colors were off from the origional, not as bad as the the one i posted previously, but still not right.
can anyone give me some idea as to why the colors are wrong? -
So you illegally downloaded an episode of Inuyasha and want help converting it to DVD?
The good news is you can buy the episode on DVD and save a lot of time.
