Using VDubmod 1.5.10.1. Loaded several Xvid and mpeg videos and tried to demux to .wav but nothing happened, no errors, nothing. I've done this many times and never had this problem. I set audio=full processing, video=direct stream. Tried this in Nandub, too, and same thing. I reinstalled Vdub and my codecs but nothing. I've used Vdub for a few months and never a problem. Not sure what's going on.

  2. If I am not mistaken there is no option for "Audio" in VirtualDubMod. So you may be using VirtualDub.

In VirtualDubMod open the file. Go to Streams > Streams List. Select the audio stream and hit the Demux button.
When I was born I was so shocked that I could'nt speak for 18 months.

Another way to achieve this is to just load the AVI in Goldwave, save.
