Beavis & Butthead is on DVD but you have to order them from Timelife video thats how I got my set. But the music have been taken out of the show on the DVDs.
I think Beavis & Butthead is still on MTV2 from time to time that might have the music videos. Could always make your own DVD set. -
WKRP was already released on VHS -- and the music lic thing is a crock of crap ---> because ALL the original good music was replaced years ago by generic music done in a studio ..
they did this to syndicate the show and not pay the lic fees (which would be huge to be sure).. in syndication, some other things were also edited, like drug references removed.... and even some posters on the walls ..
so they could release the dvd as the edited version ..
some people do have the the unedited versions also of all the shows .... since these were sent to tv stations of course when first aired.....
more info on the wkrp web site ..... they track this stuff ...
the unedited versions (all 90 shows) on dvd, with originial music show up on ebay every few months ... about 150$"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
That's what happened to Space Ghost Coast To Coast. Some of the episodes had clips of Ultra-7 (among others), so the episodes either were not released or delayed while they edited the material out.

Quantum Leap was also affected by this. They had to remove certain songs and replace them with others. Sucks.

Another is "The Millionaire" starring Marvin Miller as Michael Anthony, attorney to billionaire recluse John Beresford Tipton (played by Paul Frees) ... who, though Anthony, gives away tax-free checks for $1,000,000 to complete strangers to see what they do with it. -
Music rights issues is what's keeping one of my favorite animated series, MTV's Daria (the spin-off from Beavis and Butt-head), from coming out on DVD. The episodes use quite a bit of popular music (much of it from the '90s) to convey moods, and while I admit that most of it could easily be replaced by generic music, quite a few scenes (as well as the closing credits in many episodes) would actually be harmed by doing so.
Which is why I captured all the episodes I recorded on VHS and burned them to DVD. Dammit, I'm gonna have 'em on DVD one way or another!Don't sweat the petty things, just pet the sweaty things.
