Use DVD Speed instead...much more reliable than DVDInfo's PI/PIF scanning.

deejay, scan at 4x, and I also second Fandim, I've had a little better luck with Nero CD-DVD Speed. 4x is the 'standard' more or less for doing PI/PO tests.
Your 4x burn looks OK, nothing great but certainly far from being a coaster. Your 6x and 8x scans look like crap for what is supposed to be good media, but they'll probably play back ok. I do agree that they should be much better than that, though.
P.S. - DVD-ROM drives are not very good at doing PI/PO tests, burners are a much better choice. Given that, a ROM drive will usually suffice and give you a good enough idea of the disc's quality, they're just not as accurate as burners. -
I tried to burn sony's 8 speed dvd-r 4x 8x also and not so much big difference in scans
are much better and the same almost
...but VERBATIM MCC02 first quality media burn terrible at 6x and 8x.on pioneer 109...why?
pioneer 109 does not like them? -
thanks steve...i know dvdrom is not recommended....
i just wanted to know..and check it out...
but i would never expect so BIG diferrence in scans between
MCC02 burned 8x and sony burned 8x...
do you see that...
can you believe that???
my older 108 pioneer was burning perfectly....on MCC02...
pioneer 109 and MCC02....do not like each other
do you have any other explanation? -
what lordsmurf is thinking about those original retail verbatims
MCC02 bought in bestbuy?????
lordsmurf please opinion? -
I don't know, it may be that they need to do some serious tweaking of the firmware yet, or it may simply not be as good of a burner, at least with this media. I know you'd hope that wouldn't be the case, being a newer product, but obviously it's entirely possible. I've seen a number of people on CDfreaks.com that were alot happier with the burns from their 108's than their 109's, hopefully it's just a matter of improving the firmware.

i am going to kick this pioneer 109 out of my window -
Your problem is Nero 6. It does not work well with the Pioneer 109. This is no surprise. Use RecordNow.
