Ritek G05 hub printables & G04 non-hub printables. My burner is the old faithfull Nec 2500a. The Riteks have a great print surface & I have found them to be realiable, & playback ok on my players & my freinds. Would buy G04 hub printables but they don't make them. I alway's burn at 4x.

  7. Have allways been pleased with G04 before, but there printales seems to be worse quality then the regular non printable. Haven't had goodluck with the printables so far, lots of skipping and frezzing and ugly tests results in nerospeed. Go with Tayio Yuden and you will be safe.....

Would be interested to know what burners you guy's are using with the Ritek G04 & G05 printables. I have burned over 800 Ritek discs ( approx 500 G04 & 300 G05's ). The last 200 were hub & non-hub printables. Have never had a problem with them. When I do replace my ageing Nec 2500a I want to know what burners to avoid.

Save yourself alot of future headaches and go for the Taiyo Yudens - they may be a little more expensive, but they are definitely worth it. They're the best in both printable and non-printable form, hands-down.

Would consider changing to Taiyo Yuden but here in the Uk they cost £59.98 ($114.47) for 100. http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acatalog/Inkjet_printable_DVD_R.html
Think I will stick with Ritek.

  13. I know I'm going to catch hell for saying this, but Taiyo Yuiden printable DVD's arent perfect either. I ordered 2 batches- one from RIMa and one from Supermedia recently. Both had at the edges a sticky substances, my guess is from the glue or when they package the DVD's in the cheap plastic sleeve, unlike other companies that put them in a hard plastic case. I have had to use the ones that had quite a bit of (glue?) as short disks, ones where the video uses less that 4GB. I used Prodisc in the past until i started having problems with a batch with them, all skipping at 1:42 into a dvd video. If i had to buy another batch im considering verbatum Printables, they use a hard cover case. I absolutely love printable dvd's it just seems more difficult to get better quality because of the extra step involved in getting a printable label on the DVD's. I use non-printable disks Verbatum and have had 0 problems.
Just out of curiousity take a good look under the light at your TY disks and see if yours has this problems too? It looks like spots on the edges and goes slightly into the portion the DVD writes on.

  14. I ordered two fifty pack cakeboxes from Rima a couple of months ago and they werent in a plastic sleeve. Never had any problems with them. I wanted hub printables for dvd+r media so I got some Verbatim datalifeplus, those are nice too. I just ordered FOUR FIFTY PACK TAIYO YUDEN 4X PRINTABLES FOR AN UNHEARD OF $2.38 PER BOX. Yes, thats two dollars and thirty eight cents for a box of fifty Taiyo Yudens printables. I wont say where they are from until I receive them. Total came to 16 dollars and some change. They suppose to be man. # DVD+R47WPYSB4 . Ill tell if they are real or not when they come in.
