Issues with TmpgEnc Xpress

I am having issues getting TmpgEnc Xpress running. It seems that some files I drop into it give me this error:
Cannot open the video part of the file C:\"filename". Only the audio part can be opened
Below is the video specs from one of the files that won't load.


As well I get an error msg when I take a look at the Preferences, (Options -> Preferences)
Failed to Initialize the Vfapi Frame Server

try reinstall the xvid codec.

Should I uninstall the old one first or just go anhead with the reinstall?

Reinstalled and still nothing. The pic below shows the codecs that I have installed. I don't see an Xvid codec but I am assuming that the DivX codec would be used. Is this a correct assumption? Can someone recommend a good Xvid codec to use?
