  1. Does any one use the full version of this filter:
    http://konstant.freeshell.org/index.html

Is it worth the $35.00 the author asks for it. Have you done any comparisons with other such filters (DeSpot, DeScratch, (RemoveDirt for avisynth))? How does it compare? Anyone done any work with this filter at at all. From his description, it sure sounds like a pretty good filter.
    Anyone?
    Thanks,
    Mark

Sounds like you may have some level of experience with Avisynth. Even if you have not, I would say go that route. Go over to the doom9.org forum and check out some of the posts on grain removal. You will be pleasantly surprised at the results you can get when using the correct filter chain.

I started using Avisynth in Oct/Nov of 2004 to do my VHS to DVD conversion, to replace the virtualdub filtering process. The difference is night and day really. Avisynth is the way to go. A good DVD recorder with some hardware help (TBC, Proc Amp, detailer) is a more expensive, but time-saving way to achieve similar results.

RemoveDirt, RemoveGrain, PixieDust, Convolution3D, just to name a few. Sharfis_Brain (doom9 avs forum) has a very interesting was of achieving VHS conversion.

This was a long winded way of saying, NEVER PAY for a video filter for virtualdub or avisynth
