Just to be clear, are you using DVD Lab or DVD LabPro? And are you trying to have a menu selectable audio stream, or just trying to select one of the audio streams in a file that currently contains 2 audio streams?

  6. Reboot - I have a Text-word and a Neon-style underline grouped together, the line is set to Invisible normal so that when the button is selected the line shows up. However i cant seem to get the line to appear neonish when doing that. It just turns into a red bar. Any way around that? Thanks

    Edit:
If in Menu 1 i set VM commands to:
    GPRM0 = 0
    SetSTN (audio=GPRM0 )

Thats saying that the Audio stream(Default is the 1st im assuming)will be played

Now in the 2nd Menu I set it to:
    GPRM0 = 1
    SetSTN (audio=GPRM0 )

Thats saying to NOT play the Audio stream(Default im assuming) so therefore it MUST play Audio stream #2...

Do i have that correct or am i missing something? Thanks

  7. Is it required to merge both audio tracks into 1 ?

  8. First, check the MAP tab. Turn off the mapping colours for all menus, selected. This will rid you of the "red bar" look.
Why use VM commands for audio stream?
Menu 1 has audio 1, menu 2 has audio 2. You're making it more confusing than it need be.
"merge both audio tracks into 1"...huh? what are you trying to do exactly?

  9. Look at the bottom part of the guide. It mentions that since we already linked the buttons to diffrent menus, to get that ball-switching effect, we cannot use the buttons anymore. Therefore they said to use the VM Commands.

"While our menu already works, it still doesn't do anything - there are no commands. Here we will use another trick. We will not add commands to buttons, since they are already occupied with the menu switching dance.

We will add commands to the menus PRE command area."

I think you miss understood my Red bar question. If i turn off the colour map for Selected buttons, then the bar will completely disappear because ive set it to 'Invisible Normal". Thx

  11. In some of the tutorials I read that you must merge everything togeter into 1 single mpeg.

  12. VM is just one way. You could also use hotspots (it's easier).
If you right click, select UOP's...you can set precommands. You can also use a VMG menu for precommands that lead to the title menu.
It all depends on how complex the structure already is. The tutorial is VERY complex, and more than most people need. Just use the portion you want for switched subs.
On switched menus, you must select what you want visible to hilight. If it's a bar, then set invisible normal on all switched menus, EXCEPT the one you want selected. You don't need to use mapping colours with switched menus.

  13. OK cool. Also mind telling me how to use that Hotspot method? I get an Overlapping error when assigning 2 diffrent buttons with diffrent commands to one hotspot. Thanks

  14. You can't overlap commands.
Assign the hotspot to text, or something that doesn't overlap.
Read the help files on VM commands if you want to go that route. It's all there.

  17. lol :P
In that case, how can you have 2 objects with 2 commands(one for the menu switch and one for Set Audio/Sub)set to one group hotspot if it only allows for 1 command(the hotspot itself)??? Thanks

  18. The hotspot cannot overlap other commands. Period. So if that doesn't work for you, you need PRE VM commands.
Search for VM commands in DVDLab help, and start reading

  20. Uhm do i need to create a direct link to the movie from the Setup Menu? I tested the DVD files and went into the Setup, changed the Subs to Off and Audio to English, then went back to the Main Menu and started the movie. That didn't work. Did i miss something? Thanks

  21. I'm lost.
You must have a way to play the movie, with the default audio track, linked from some menu.
You can then have a selectable alternate audio track. You can also have selectable subs (on or off), as well as multiple language subs.
This is ALL controlled via the DVD menu structure, and not your player. DVDLab set's it all up, so that no matter WHAT player you have, everything should work.
On your player, turn subs on, audio to English (providing you have at least one English audio track), and it will play. Use the DVD Menu to turn subs on or off, and select alternate audio (if you have it), do not use the players controls.

  22. Ok heres how i have it:

Main Menu(Play Movie, Scene Selection, Setup)
    |
Setup(Switched Menu with commands that "Set audio to Audio 1 and 2. And same thing for Subs, "Set On/Off")

I started the DVD, went into Setup and clicked the "English" command which is linked to "Set to Audio2", then i turned the Subs Off. I then hit the Back button to take me back to the Main Menu. Then from there i hit Play Movie. And it played with the Japanese stream and with Subs On.

*I tested this on the computer by opening the VOB files so im not sure if thats the problem*

    Thanks

  23. Opening the .vobs is just going to play the default, nothing you chose to switch on/off will work.
You need a good software player such as WinDVD Platinum or PowerDVD, and select "Play DVD from folder". Select the root folder of the VIDEO_TS folder.
eg. The folder structure is like this:
    c:\temp\dvd\video_ts\
You would choose c:\temp\dvd as the folder to play from.

  24. Ok i did an experiment. I made one Menu with just Play Movie, Audio1, and Audio2. I set the buttons to "Set Audio..." 1 and 2. Tried it out and switched the streams and worked flawlessly. I went back to the complex compilation and noticed that in Windows Media Player it will show what the currently selected audio stream is. It will load the Japanese stream but not the English, i think its the Switched Menu that isn't working right but wouldn't know whats wrong. Thx

  25. Probably nothing wrong. WMP doesn't play dvd properly. You need a better player, or an even better idea, burn the compilation to DVDRW, and test it on your standalone.

  26. Wow man i dont know. Same deal...I tried from the menu, didnt work. I tried PowerDVDs change "Change Audio Stream" that didn't work either.

  27. Burn a DVDRW and test it in your player.
You keep trying to use your software player's options to change audio. Wrong.
If you did it correctly, the DVD structure you've set up allows for the DVD to have it selectable, NOT the player.
Use the options on your DVD menu, not your DVD PLAYER'S MENU.
