Does anyone know if there is a limit to the amount of times that a uk sky digibox viewing card can be removed and inserted?
I now have a sky digibox in 2 rooms of the house, however I only watch one at a time so instead of paying my £10 per month for a second subscription I would just like to move the viewing card from one decoder to the other as required...

There is no limit, if your receiver is not connected on your phone line (so you have to own the receiver).
Also, you can use the same card on more than one receivers only for the Family Pack channelsLa Linea by Osvaldo Cavandoli

There is no limit other than the wear nd tear on the card. They are not very robust and so I would not be at all surprised if the card or the reader on one of your boxes fails after a while.
Also, the card is paired with the box. Sastorm said it will only allow the Family Pack channels. I am note evn sure about that, it might only be the few Free To Air channels.
You could always use a 'TV Link' as supplied by Sky to feed a 2nd TV from the one box. I know the connection is only RF so the quality could be better and no stereo on the 2nd TV but it works surpisingly well. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary... -
I only have the family pack so lack of the movies & sport doesn't affect me!
Thanks All

I use the same Sky Digital smart card on 3 digiboxes!
I'm subscripted on the family pack channels
All digiboxes are not connected on the phone line.
The original digibox, the one "tied up" with the card works OK
The other 2 ones, pop up a message "Wrong Card", but the family pack channels shows OK.
You can't use the card to buy PPV stuff when you use it on other digiboxesLa Linea by Osvaldo Cavandoli
