Hi hope some one can help see below for details, I have been using this set up for a while to capture various inputs vhs or digital recordings from the TV when the capturing had finished l then edit files with nero vision 3 which l find really easy to use however recently l have had a problem with the audio stream as in when l drag it into NV to edit/trim l get a high pitched squealing sound or rather a pixelated audio sound, a bit like a satellite transmission when the signal breaks up, in every file. I can ignore it and proceed with the edit which l have done but when l burn to disc the sound issue remains on the final product the picture quality is perfect and this has been working fine up to now, any ideas anyone is there a codec missing l have virtual dub but have not experimented with that yet.

here is a recent capture I burnt

"but when l burn to disc the sound issue remains"

in the player it's the same stand alone or pc

l should also mention that l can capture to alternative settings ie avi
but the quality isn't as good but the audio is ok

Run your captured file through GSpot and post the findings. Your end result on the DVD is AC3 audio but so far you have not said what your capture audio is.

I also meant a "player". What does the audio sound like in a player like Windows Mediaplayer or VLC Player.

checked the wmp and it's the same, also l checked the audio and it's not through the sound card. The capture card handles the audio and the video

Without a GSpot screenshot or description of the video and audio of your original capture file nobody will know how to help you.

ok here is gspot file. Interestingly l recorded this in the format that is causing problems it's a stored recording on my sky (uk) digibox hard drive, again same audio problem, I also, while i was at it, recorded a live feed via the same digibox with the same capture card setup and when l imported it into NV the sound was fine!

Edit your very first post in this thread and change it to mention a problem "capturing SKY broadcast". We have SKY here where I live but I don't have it and don't want it. I've read too many horror stories here on VideoHelp over the years.
