  1. Here is my system

    AMD Athlon 2400
    512 PC2700 DDR
    Abit KX7-333 motherboard VIA chipset
    Winfast TV2000 XP

I wanting to capture 720x480 in an avi file for editing. I have been getting sync issues. I have read the post about VIA chipset problems(but I think that is on a different board). I have check on the abit forum and still not luck. I have the latest drivers on the motherboard. I am using the sofware that came with the card. I am willing to try different software and different codecs. I have tried VirtualVCR but do not know the country code for my cable company. USA,NC Time Warner Cable.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

  2. i had the same problems you did the cause was the old drivers and software that came with the card.

delete everything you can find with winfast pvr and completely unistall the capture card and the video codec's in the device manager area the reboot the system and install the new software and drivers.

    your problems will then begone.

    go here

    http://www.leadtek.com.tw/eng/support/list_driver.asp

    then choose

WinFast TV 2000 XP (Deluxe / FM / RM)

get the updated driver then the pvr software and install the using the PDF on that page at the bottom it will give you step by step on doing that.

here is a tip to get the best possible picture.

if your going to be using a high quality s-video cable that delievers a high brightness ration like my master series accoustic research cables do.

    lower the brightness a tad
    lower the contrast a tad
increase the color just a little

doing those three things give's excellent results when applied correctly if your not satisfied with those just click default and its back to the overly bright settings.

also lower the sharpness all the way on the tv set makesit look even better.
