  1. Hey guys.

I just got the ATI TV Wonder VE, which blows the Dazzle 100 out of the water!

So far, I've only used Windows Movie Maker to capture the videos. Though a video which is about 4 minutes long is 18MB and the quality is pretty blurry. Is there any program I can use to compress the video smaller, but not lose that much in quality. Or, which is a good video editing program?

    I have:

    Windows Movie Maker 2
    Showbiz
    Ulead 6

Though I only tried Windows Movie Maker because I get confused on what to compress it in with the other editors. Which is a good format to capture video in?

Sorry for all of these newb questions!

  2. P.S - Most of my videos will be between 1 - 10 min long each.

    I'm also capturing from VHS-C.

    Any suggestions?

If you plan on doing any extensive editing then you might want to consider the Canopus ADVC-100 or the ADVC-300 as they will convert your analog video input into DV AVI format which is the easiest format to do editing in.

Otherwise I would try captureing in either HuffyUV (big files but best quality) or PICVideo MJPEG which has 20 quality settings with 19 and 20 being the only two most people use (anything less than 19 is considered too low in quality for serious video use).

  4. Hi, is there any way to capture commerical video to dvd using canopus- 100, I've got tons of old vhs tapes and some of them are starting to go bad. Some you can't get on vhs or dvd anymore and the kids wanted to keep them for their kids. I also have Nero 6 and Ulead Mediastudio Pro 7.I also have liteon 16x DVD R+/- +/- Rw Drive with DL ability. I saw someone selling a Canopus 100 and he said there was a way to configure canopus-100 to allow conversion to DVD. Any help would be great. Thanks k9bliss
