  1. I have converted a video to SVCD using Tmpgenc. I used the DVD template to make a compliant svcd.

Now I'm wondering how I burn this to a DVD. I use nero to burn SVCD on CD, but It doesn't have that on DVD template.

You can't burn svcd on dvd media. Convert instead to DVD and burn on DVD. You can use low resolution like 352x480/576 on a dvd.

Or if you really want to burn the svcd mpg file on a dvd that works on standalone dvd players then make a "dvd-svcd", use dvd-lab and add the svcd. done. But this is not a compliant dvd...it may not work on alllllllllllllll players.

  3. I want toburn a SVCD DVD

I've purchased DVD's that r svcd dvds' they say mpeg2 on them.

tmpgenc allowed me to encode for proper format.

So you want me to convert to VOB's ?.

There ain't no such thing as an SVCD DVD.

DVD videos use mpeg-2 encoded files (generally).

  7. Also ? I can't see why there would be a difference between SVCD on cd-r & svcd on a dvd.

Isn't that just different media ?

SVCD = a CD with video on it
    480x480 res, 2000-range bitrate, 44.1 audio
    Wrong for DVD-Video

DVD-Video = a DVD with video on it
Lots of specs, but none of the SVCD stuff works here.

    Not the same.

Convert the video and make it a real DVD.

Or dump the incorrect SVCD MPEG2 on a DVD by patching the headers and/or using authorware that is not true-to-spec

Lots of guide, and lots of reading to be done for any of this. It's not as easy as hitting the "go" button somewhere.
