  1. I'm trying to convert an OGG file to AC3. I got the OGG file by demuxing it from an OGM video using VirtualDubMod. If I run Besweet and try to convert it Besweet doesn't even seem to run, it prints out the introductory info at the beginning of the program and then just quits. I ran an older version of Besweet and it came up with a bunch of sync errors, but also refused to run. Now the interesting thing is that it's only Besweet that seems to choke on it. I can open up the file in other programs and save it to a WAV and use Besweet to convert the wav to ac3. Even WinAmp plays the OGG file fine. I've also tried demuxing the OGG from the OGM using OGMDemuxer instead of VirtualDubMod, same thing. Anyone know what might be wrong??

certain versions of besweet do not convert to ac3. The newest versions should do the conversion. Be aware that besweet ac3 audio is not 100% dvd compliant.

This is the most recent version. Thanks for the heads up about non 100% compliance. I'll probably switch to some other tool then. Anyone know of any tools out there that can do straight conversions form OGG to AC3?

Actually, I though it was backwards. Newer versions did not come with the AC3ENC.DLL and older ones did.

I know that the older 1.4 and earlier versions did do ac3 conversions. I heard that they reinstituted the ac3 conversions in the latest versions but I have never tried it. I use softencode for my ac3 conversions and it seems to work good.

  10. The latest version of Belight (different gui for besweet.dll) with the latest version of besweet does seem to produce compliant AC3.
I use ffmpeggui to do AC3, but I'm not sure if it will take an ogg source.
