  1. Hey y'all!

I am presumably gonna get framed and yelled at after posting this thread. You will all tell me to read others threads or basiclly go f*** myself .

But I seriously need some help. I have searched for my answer in this forum, but havent find anything. Well nothing that I understand with my shitty english. Thats why you guys are my last hope

Well my problem is not a big one, just the solution is maybe. I have a korean movie that only has DTS audio. And my standalone DVD player doesnt support that. And sry to say that I dont have money to buy a new reciever etc etc. .

Is there a way to take the DTS audio, and convert it to DD ?? (my dvd player supports Dolby Digital, thats what the info says "Dolby Digital 5.1)

Then after the convert burn in to a DVD-R togehter with the videofiles?

Please if you are a kind person, plz write some nice answers. Which appz should I use etc etc, or maybe post a link to guides/articles.

Or if the answer is found somewhere in this forum, plz post a link. Most of the threads Ive found were hard for me to understand.

Thanks very much for reading this
    Bye bye

    Hello,

    Check out besweet.

It can convert almost any audio format to anything else. You may need to purchase the dts plug in. Not sure as I don't do much with dts - I usually leave that alone.

    Good luck.

    I know 4 diffrent methods:

two methods uses filters from WinDVD (5.x +)
-> Hypercube Transcoder + further DS Filter
    -> Azidts (+ besweetGUI)+ further DS-Filter

    dtsdec 0.02 (download
-> commandline tool (donīt forget the '>' )

    foobar2000
-> decodes DTS via diskwriter utliliy

itīs on you which one do you prefer
you always end up with 6 single mono WAVs
finally you have to feed those WAVs with your favorit AC3 encoder and mux the AC3 with your MV2 to your new DVDVideo

    bye Daphy

PS: whatīs your native language? maybe I could help you

    Answer on personal message:

first you have to demux the streams inside your VOBs - there are many solutions to do this:
f.e. vobedit you will find this @ the demux functions (-> itīs better to save the vob/ifo files on hd before start any other action!)

    next: audio decoding
now you have dts file! next is download the latest foobar2000 - special version
open the dts file by dragīnīdrop into the playing list. Then use right click on the file 'convert' > 'Run conversion, single file output' use 'WAV PCM fixed point' and save the file.

    next: audio encoding
download f.e. HeadAC3 (latest version) (mirror) and give your WAV as input, chose AC3 as output finally you ended up with a new AC3

next step remux your AC3 back to your VOB project, how? use IFOEdit and author the DVD new or ask other VIDEO-Cracks on this board!

If youīve found a method to do this, please post it here to give the board a complete 'guide' [/url]

  7. hey daphy!

I have encountered another problem. When I tst to convert the dts file in foobar 2000 I get this message in the consolewindow:

"INFO (CORE) : startup time: 1766 ms
    ERROR (foo_diskwriter) : Conversion failed."

Is there a codec I need before converting the dts file in foobar?

  10. I tried to read the thread link you posted daphy. And followed to guide there, but I still dont get it. It says you should search for "FAAC : MP4(LC),quality 100" in the list (preferences --> diskwriter). But in my scroll list I only have two kinds. WAV(fixed point) and WAV(floating-point).

Why is it so hard to just convert a file!!!

All the guides seems incomplete, because always when I try them I always get stuck. And the playback in foobar2000 didnt work. Got this message:

INFO (CORE) : startup time: 94 ms
INFO (CORE) : opening file for playback :
    INFO (CORE) : location: "file://D:\VIDEO_TS\dts_to_ac3\VOB1\VTS_01_1.8a.dts" (0)
ERROR (CORE) : error opening file for playback :
    INFO (CORE) : location: "file://D:\VIDEO_TS\dts_to_ac3\VOB1\VTS_01_1.8a.dts" (0)

  12. I have seen in one thread. It said that BeSweet is easy but it is still a bit buggy. If I use it, is it gonna give a bad result at the end?

  17. hi daphy!

I have tried fixing one of the dts file with Besliced. And I got a big logfile with errors. Thats kind of wierd, because I extracted the dts file like your guide said. Anyway after the fix I opened the fixed file, which was 284MB. The first file was 750MB.
Trying to playback the fixed file in foobar2000 special version gave me the same error like before.

INFO (CORE) : startup time: 1156 ms
INFO (CORE) : opening file for playback :
    INFO (CORE) : location: "file://D:\VOB1\VTS_01_1.8a_Fixed01.dts" (0)
ERROR (CORE) : error opening file for playback :
    INFO (CORE) : location: "file://D:\VOB1\VTS_01_1.8a_Fixed01.dts" (0)

Would you recommend the BeSweet convert option?
Or should I use your guide. I think your guide is great, but I keep getting errors and cant continue

    Hit me back!

First you have to install windvd 5+ (no demo - the fullversion! because this software includes the needed DS Filter for decoding)

-> besweet: please use the installer version from my home page http://www.needfulthings.webhop.org/ it includes the rest!

then use your DTS file as input output 6 single WAVs (AC3 might not work direct -plz try it out) if it wont work do it in two steps.

-> the channel mapping between DTS and AC3 might be diffrent (DTS: L,R,C,LFE,SL,SR - AC3: F,C,R,SL,SR,LFE) keep this in mind when you mux the single channels back in a 6channel-WAV (also known as 6WAV) for encoding f.e. by HeadAC3 or besweet itself.

how to mux? take a look at 31.
