    Here is my configuration:
    OS: Win 2K Pro
    CPU: Dual PIII 450 MHz
    RAM: 1 GB
    HDD: 80 GB
    CDW: LG 52x (GCE-8526B)
DVD Player (Stand alone): Malata DVD-393

    Software:
    AVI2SVCD 1.2.2 build 3
    VirtualDub 1.5.10
    Cinema Craft Encoder 5.5
Nero Express 6.3.1.12 // VCDEasy 2.1.1 (Trial Version)

    Questions:
    1. Tried to run VCDEasy, but it just hangs looking for CDRW? any ideas?

    2. PBC type - What do the choices of a) Use Selections, b) Use Playlist, and c) No PBC actually mean? (I know PBC is playback control).

    3. Why does AVI2SVCD not list 700MB/80 min CDR as an option in the Bitrate tab?

    4. If I have MPG files that are TOO big, what additonal s/w (free) would I need to join them and then split them to fit on 80 Min CDR?

    5. What are the differences between the CD Image choices of VCDXBuild, VCDImager, and I-Author? What are they, and should I be concerned about them?

My apologies if I have missed a guide/ how to that would answer these questions. Pointing me to a specific one would be helpful and appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

  2. If you're trying to burn with VCDEasy, I suspect Nero is causing problems. Did for me, I could use VCDEasy fine up to the burning stage. The burning problem didn't start until I installed Nero. Once VCDEasy creates your bin/cue, use Nero to burn the image.

Let's see, haven't done a VCD or SVCD in awhile. I always just used no PBC.

As to AVI2SVCD, dunno, never used it.

TMPGEnc has cut/join options in MPEG Tools.

Hope that helped a little, good luck.

  3. To split/join mpeg files you can use AVI-MPEG-ASF splitter/joiner from boilsoft.com besides TMPGEnc. Also check out the tools section on this forum.
