  1. This problem occured 3 times in the last few weeks. I set up a conversion to DVD using AVI2DVD then a "file not opened" error occurs in the early stages (before video encoding). Afterwards the AVI file is completely unusable, showing a duration of 300 to 500 minutes when opened in a video player with time jumping and video going much faster than audio.(The file played just fine before).

Anyone have any similar experiences or hints on what it could be...my search is pretty unhelpful so far. I'd be happy to just be able to fix the files at this point, something the usual fix tools didn't do

P.S. : I'm not 100% sure on the timeline but I installed Service Pack 2 in the last few weeks. Maybe it is a cause to some extent...

  2. It's hard to understand how a program can corrupt a file by just reading it.

I can't find AVI2DVD under Tools. Are you using DVD2SVCD to read the AVI and create DVD compliant files?

  4. Are you running an AviSynth script as part of the DVD2SVCD processing?

  5. I'm running the default script within AVI2DVD, I think the error occurs either in the namdubs part or at the beginning of the audio extraction part...but not completely sure as i didn't witness it as it happens yet

  7. Did you ever figure this problem out? I have the same error message with a few xvids that I've tried to convert. I checked the avis in vdub for errors and no errors reported.

    Thanks!
