This DVD set is a royal pain in the ass. Not only am I having the troubles described in THIS thread....I just realized today that the pause button(function) is disabled on both my DVD player and my computer DVD player.....BASTAGES.....

The troubles described in the thread listed above may just be my stupidity....but no pause function in the main concert? The pause button is working in the extras however....weird.

    Hello,

Don't know I'll have to check amazon for it in a little bit. Though my first priority will be to get the Phil Collins DVD especially since I saw him in concert on September 10th

"First Final Farewell Tour"? How many "final" tours can you have and, better yet, how many "final farewell" tours can you have?

Keep milking the masses Phil ...it's OK with me since I never bought one of your songs and never will

    I had similar problems trying to fit some Genesis concerts to one dvd. I would presume they come from the same mastering house. Through much trial and error, and massive amounts of Tanqueray and tonic (my head still hurts) I completed the project;
    #1 My dvd contained 4 angles (explaining why a 2 1/2 hour concert filled 2 dvd9's) First is to strip to one angle. Decryptor has a button to do this but the output of this rapidly cycled from angle to angle (is this your stuttering problem?). The latest version of shrink 3.2-something did manage to strip it to one angle. (I used "no compression" since I wanted to later reencode rather than transcode to retain better quality). I tried to feed this to TDA and got;
#2 your same GOP error. There may be a header patch to fix this but I'm not that smart. Since I wanted to reencode anyway I ran the video segments through TMPGEnc Express with ac-3 plug-in. This results in 2 channel ac-3 which is fine with me since I listen to music in stereo. (If you want to retain 5.1 audio you will have to demux and encode video seperately) This also fixed the GOP error. I wonder if these dvd's are true to spec? I will have to look for dvd-video symbol on the box when I get home.
#3 inactive pause button. Look for check box remove P-OP's in preferences of shrink here:
    http://www.dvdshrink.info/preferences.php
Hopefully this will help solve some of your problems with this frustrating project, so remember... lots of Tanqueray! Best of luck!

Phil is actually joking. He is cracking on the many people who claimed to have done their LAST TOUR EVER.....and come back a few years later with a tour. I honestly believe I saw him perform live for the last time here in Germany. He just had a new baby....he really can't hit the high notes very well anymore....and he already has more money than God so....I believe Phil when he said he did this tour to say Goodbye and Thank You. He also plans on a complete retirement by 2008 so he can watch his new baby grow up. He never got that chance with the previous kids. He is commited to at least one more soundtrack project then I believe he is done.
Phil is a classy guy....except for that time he FAXED one of his wives that he was seeking a divorce from her....

    Three years from now.

I knew it wasn't his last tour.

He will have a new cd out by then and go on tour again.

    Hello,

    Poor misguided Bazooka -

Phil did not go on tour with his "BOTH SIDES" cd. Nor did he tour for "TARZAN". He also waited to go on tour for "TESTIFY". That alone suggests he is winding down.

Of course the FINAL answer won't be known for a year or two but anyway I'm still glad I finally got to see him

Great News Yoda. Good to hear it is exactly like the European released one.
Did you happen to catch the Box Set released in 2000 called Genesis Archive #2 (1976-1992)?
All of those Genesis rarities I collected over the years became useless because of that box set....but it was great to finally have them on CD.

    Hello,

Nope - no new Genesis stuff lately......

I'm currently backing up my FAREWELL DVD.

I'm splitting the concert and videos up. I'm going to make the CONCERT DISC ONE and the VIDEOS Disc two.

Hopefully I can fit all of the Bonuses on one disc without compressing it. The videos off of disc one were 2gbs or so. Here's hoping

    Hello,

Got them all ripped last night. I haven't gotten around to authoring it just yet. Looks pretty straightforward. I've got the music videos from both discs in seperate folders uncompressed. I figure I should be able to make 1 disc out of those - I think it'll fit without compressing - if not I'll drop the tv special.....

    BUMP!

Oh I hate this - STUPID prohibited user actions - I CAN'T PAUSE DURING THE CONCERT!

Man what a crazy lock out. I've never seen that on a concert disc. I have about five or six now. What on earth caused them to do that???? I mean I have to wait for the track to end to go get something!

Oh well - still a fun disc (two discs actually )

What did you use to author with? I had a hell of a time with TDA. Yea that pause thing SUCKS....why in the hell would anyone think that was a desired feature and include it in their authoring scenario?

    Have you seen my profile?...

    Harddrive space: 80gb, 80gb, 120gb Maxtors

I used to think 80gigs was SOOO much space until DVD-ing came along.
Hell I remember buying my first 1 gig (that is a ONE) HD computer....WOW that was a monster back then....

    Hello,

I know I'm just too cheap to buy an extra harddrive right now....

You want to talk about a big jump???? My first computer that was over 100mb of harddrive space was my PENTIUM 1!

Yep I trugged along with a 386 and 50mb of harddrive space until we got a Pentium 1 200 mhz with 2 gb of harddrive space and a CDROM drive! Let me tell you that was a MONSTER jump to make.

    Yoda,
I also have Phil Collins Live in Dallas Tx and another show Live at Perkins Palace....both from the mid 80's.
The Dallas show is also listed as "All Live" - a Brazilian DVD (most likely an unauthorized DVD if it is from Brazil) and I transfered the Perkins Palace show from VHS.
