i have a Dynex IDE DRW 1108IM with the firmware version B230 and some maxell dvd disk with the media code of MXL RG03. when i burn them at 8x the dvd video pauses in some spots of the movie. this happens to all the disks i have used with that media code. do u think it will help if i burn at a lower speed?

You can try lower speed burning and that might help but if your burner does not produce good quality burns then you will find no speed reduction helps. I have never had good luck with Maxell media I stay with Prodisc, Ritek, or Taiyo Yuden. It sounds like the problems you are having come from bad media or burn quality. try kprobe and run a transfer rate test. If the disc produces a fairly smooth curve with no large spikes then there is something else wrong.
The real answer lies in completely understanding the question!
