  1. Hi,

I just got a optical lead for my pc ,but when i play Divx/Avi through it my
amp does not display the dolby digital text , but if i play it on my KISS stand alone divx dvd player my amp displays dolby digital text
So whats going on ? is my pc setup wrongly ?
I'm using the AC3 filter v0.70b set to SPDIF and i'm running the divx on Power DVD 5 also set to SPDIF.
Just to note that also after playing a clip the AC3 filter prog sets it self to
    Dolby surround .
    Any comments welcome.

  2. I may well be wrong but I've had problems running PowerDVD and the AC3 filter. I believe it's because of some codec contention as PowerDVD has it's own ac3 decoder.

I don't use PowerDVD anymore - I switched to using Zoom Player (which I prefer anyway) and that seems to output the ac3 correctly

  3. thanks for the help but still no dolby logo text displayed on my amp and zoom player wouldn't play most of my divx even though i've got
all the correct codacs installed, and like i said the ones that did play still no sign of dolby on the amp.

Thanks anyway...Any one els want 2 step up 2 the plate ?

  4. HI,

I've got exatly the same problem, I've been trying all week to sort it out, not yet worked it out, its driving me mad. When you play a 5.1 dvd do you get the logo then?

  5. Yes i get the logo when i put a dvd disc into my pc dvd, i have read another post that says some thing about compression , but like i said the same Divx/Avi movie that will not display the Dolby Digital on my pc setup
will if i put it in my standalone dvd Divx player (KISS 500).
    DOH

  6. I know it's been a year since this last post, but I am just now encountering this problem. What is the solution? Should I use a specific software divx player?

  7. Nevermind. I figured it out.

DVD Decryptor > AutoGK > AC3 Filter set to SPDIF out > proper config of Audigy card > SUCCESS!
