I have a batch of ritek go4's I got and damn do they suck. I usually wouldn't have anything but good to say about ritek but after using 250 of their dvd-rs, this is a disappointment. A lot out of the 50 pack I got gives uncorrectable errors right after it's finished burning, but the discs have no scratches or dirt whatsoever. My question is this: I used isobuster to extract one of these dvd-rs and IT has the error during the extras and I cannot extract the rest of the disc. Since the menu and the movie is intact is there a way I could burn this and have it play properly? I've tried playing it with dvd software but the menu won't link up to the video unfortunatly. any ideas on how to keep the movie and the menus?

Have you tried re-authoring (i.e. stripping the movie from the menu's/features) with DVD Shrink?

Well I wanna at least keep the movie and the menu since they are fine and the uncorrectable sectors are towards the extras on the disc.

Well, shrink wont let you keep the menu on a re-author, so that's no help unless the movie only is better than nothing. Did you try DVD Decrypter? It can be a bit more forgiving on read errors than other apps.

yeah I tried but it won't even load the disc at all since it has the uncorrectable errors. Maybe there is a way to change the IFO files so that I can relink the menu to just play the movie and burn it that way.

  8. Try IFOEdit; open the video_ts.ifo, click on the menu extras button and check only the option to correct ifo tables with new vob-unit information. Then click the save button. Close ifoedit and make sure the video_ts.ifo has been updated. Re-start ifoedit and re-open the ifo, then click the get vts sectors button.
