  1. i have downloaded some files from the net in parts then joined them with virtualdub into one whole file. i then got tmpgenc xpress v.3 followed the instructions from afonics dvd guide to encode into a file to burn to dvd (probably using nero.) problem is the encoding has been converting for 8 hours now and still shows 20 hours to go, is this the normal amount of time it should take or am i doing something really wrong
    i have a P3 1500mh 1024mb 80gig etc pc.

  2. That's about right for a 2 pass VBR with motion search precision set to slowest/best.

  3. reboot is right.

Plus are you sure you have not used any filters like "sharpen image", "color correction", "gohst reduction' ... Because applying these filters would alo take longer time to encode.

use tmpgenc dvd author it works fine, especially if you need to make a video_TS file now, plus it will burn it for you to dvdr.

  7. No, it will take as long as you want it to take.
The more complex the menu structure, the longer it takes. The actual compiling and burning don't take that long at all.
