This may sound like a stupid/silly question but I'm gonna ask anyway. Now that I've finally installed XP PRO on 1 of my pc's how would I know if I have SP2 installed? I purchased a OEM version and on the package it said includes service pack 2. I haven't done the activation yet because I want to see how well this operating system runs. I've done some of the tweaks from the black viper site. What I noticed was when booting up the screen it says WINDOWS XP but my work pc the boot up screen it says WINDOWS XP PRO. I'm wondering if this is actually XP PRO. Is there some way to check? Although when the screen saver kicks in it says WINDOWS XP PRO.

Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. the hologram and packaging with the cd key & other stuff are legit.....someone posted a link on how to check for that and it was fine....

You can also right-click on My Computer and click Properties.

This isn't absolute / universal, but one thing I've noticed about the vast majority of XP machines I've worked on. When you see the Window$ XP logo while it's loading and the bar is going across the middle of the screen over and over...SP2 is almost always BLUE, PRE-SP2 is almost always green. I've seen a very few exceptions to this, and it's almost always because of a failed SP2 installation.
