Does this player only play DIVX in a 4x3 ratio? At first I thought it was the video file that was in a 4x3 ratio, but I've played 16x9 ratio files and the player is set to 16x9 in the settings and it still always shows DIVX in 4x3. I have to stretch/zoom my 16x9 TV to show the file correctly. DVDs work fine in 16x9, this only happens with DIVX files.

that's right. as of right now, as far as i know, it'll play all resolution mpeg4 video in 4:3 letterbox, regardless of what settings you choose or what type of TV you have.
i have to do the same thing for my WS tv; stretch it vertically. only problem is, the subtitles will be projected below the screen, so i can't read it. -
Same problem here.
I have a widescreen tv, the player settings are set to 16:9, but all my DIVX playback in 4:3 with black bars (matted widescreen).
It's a real pain if you ask me, because I have a lot of asian movies with subtitles, and I miss the second line of subtitles when I zoom in to fill my tv screen with the widescreen video...
This is ridiculous.
