converting problem with tmpge

Im using tmpge to convert some beavis n butthead found on morpheus, they are all in .avi format. the problem i am having is when i choose the video file i want it doesnt have any sound file and when i choose the sound file manually it says its unsupported. ive alsoused virtudub but it wont work either saying the file dont have the right codec. i'm sure i have the right one, maybe not though? i dont know if i installed it wrong or what. whenever i use tmpge to convert all other .avi files it works fine. any suggestions?
